GABA receptor (GABAR) activation is known to alleviate pain by reducing neuronal excitability, primarily through inhibition of high voltage-activated (HVA) calcium (Ca2.2) channels and potentiating G protein-coupled inwardly rectifying potassium (GIRK) channels. Although the analgesic properties of small molecules and peptides have been primarily tested on isolated murine dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons, emerging strategies to develop, study, and characterise human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)-derived sensory neurons present a promising alternative.

The Design and Application of an Assistive Hip Joint Exoskeleton for Tower Climbing.

Sensors (Basel)

November 2024

School of Power and Mechanical Engineering, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China.

Article Synopsis
  • * A control algorithm utilizing neural networks was created to optimize the climbing process, and an experiment was conducted to test the robot with volunteers.
  • * The results indicated that the exoskeleton reduced muscle strain (measured through sEMG signals) in key muscles, confirming its effectiveness in aiding personnel during tower climbing tasks.

Due to their specially designed structures, the partial discharge detection of hybrid high-voltage power transmission lines (HHVPTL) composed of overhead lines and power cables has made it difficult to monitor the conditions of power transmission lines. A parallel recognition method for partial discharge patterns of HHVPTLs is proposed by implementing wavelet analysis and improved backpropagation neural network (BPNN) to address the shortcomings of low efficiency, poor accuracy, and inability to parallel analysis of current partial discharge (PD) detection algorithms for HHVPTLs. Firstly, considering the non-smoothness of the partial discharge of the HHVPTLs, the wavelet packet decomposition algorithm is implemented to decompose the PD of the HHVPTL and resolve the relevant signal indicators to form the attribute vectors.

The mechanical fault diagnosis of HVCB is important to ensure the stability of electric power systems. Aiming at the problem of poor diagnostic performance of deep learning methods under limited samples, this paper proposes an HVCB operating mechanism fault diagnosis model (multi-channel CNN-SABO-SVM, MCCSS) based on multimodal data fusion features and Subtraction-Average-Based Optimizer (SABO). This model extracts and fuses features from the input two-dimensional data using a multi-channel CNN network and then uses the multimodal data fusion features to diagnose HVCB faults.

DC converter stations have a high voltage level, a long transmission distance, and complex internal equipment, and contain power electronic devices, which seriously endanger the stable operation of the system itself and the active distribution network at the receiving end when faults occur. Accurate fault analysis and diagnosis are critical to the safe and stable operation of power systems. Traditional fault diagnosis methods often rely on a single source of information, leading to issues such as insufficient information utilization and incomplete diagnostic scope when applied to DC transmission systems.
