Frequency-selective surfaces (FSSs) have attracted great attention owing to their unique feature to manipulate transmission performance over the frequency domain. In this work, a filtering antenna-filtering antenna (FA-FA) FSS with a wide passband and double-side sharp roll-off characteristics is presented by inter-using the filtering antenna and receiving-transmitting metasurface methods. First, a dual-polarized filtering antenna element was designed by employing a parasitic band-stop structure with an L-probe feed.

Objective: The objectives of the study were to (i) evaluate the effectiveness of wideband absorbance (WBA) at ambient pressure (WBA), tympanic peak pressure (WBA), and 0 daPa (WBA) to identify conductive hearing loss (CHL) in infants and (ii) compare the sensitivity and specificity of the three WBA tests with that of high-frequency tympanometry (HFT) and transient-evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAE).
Method: A total of 31 ears with hearing thresholds no greater than 20 dB HL (reference group from 20 infants [mean age: 3.1 weeks]) and 47 ears with CHL from 31 infants (mean age: 3.

Ultraflexible neural electrodes have shown superior stability compared with rigid electrodes in long-term recordings, owing to their low mechanical mismatch with brain tissue. It is desirable to detect neurotransmitters as well as electrophysiological signals for months in brain science. This work proposes a stable electronic interface that can simultaneously detect neural electrical activity and dopamine concentration deep in the brain.

Stroke is a leading cause of mortality and disability. Emergent diagnosis and intervention are critical, and predicated upon initial brain imaging; however, existing clinical imaging modalities are generally costly, immobile, and demand highly specialized operation and interpretation. Low-energy microwaves have been explored as a low-cost, small form factor, fast, and safe probe for tissue dielectric properties measurements, with both imaging and diagnostic potential.

To address the current demands for antenna miniaturization, ultra-bandwidth, and circular polarization in advanced medical devices, a novel ISM band implantable antenna for blood glucose monitoring has been developed. This antenna achieves miniaturization by incorporating slots in the radiation patch and adding symmetric short-circuit probes, resulting in a compact size of only 0.054λ × 0.
