Proteinuria is an expected complication in transplant patients treated with mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors (mTOR-i). However, clinical suspicion should always be supported by histological evidence in order to investigate potential alternate diagnoses such as acute or chronic rejection, interstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy, or recurrent or de novo glomerulopathy. In this case we report the unexpected diagnosis of amyloidosis in a renal-transplant patient with pre-transplant monoclonal gammapathy of undetermined significance who developed proteinuria after conversion from tacrolimus to everolimus.

Introduction Mucormycosis is an uncommon fungal infection caused by filamentous fungi of the Mucorales order, namely Rhizopus, Lichthemia, andMucor species. The incidence and prevalence of mucormycosis reached an all-time high during the COVID-19 pandemic due to excessive steroid use and other factors, leading to the coining of the term CAM (COVID Associated Mucormycosis). The diagnosis of mucormycosis is by a combination of histopathology and microbiological techniques, such as KOH mount and culture.

Background: Retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) tear is a well-known complication of RPE detachment and is typically associated with significant visual acuity decline. However, in this case, despite the occurrence of an RPE tear there was an unexpected improvement in visual acuity.
Case Presentation: A 68-year-old male presented with blurred vision in his right eye of a month's duration.

Purpose: For cancer patients, prognostication by physicians constitutes a fundamental basis of decision-making to manage the cancer journey, especially with advanced stages of cancer. Various tools such as the palliative prognostic index (PPI) have been established to estimate patient survival. Such reliable and widely applied tools unfortunately provide unexpected results of prognosis predictions in some cases.

Background: PET quantification using the Standardised Uptake Value Ratio (SUVR) relies on the availability of a robust reference region. Intrinsic noise, spill in, and specific binding in the reference region can impact the reliability of the resulting SUVR. We evaluate a novel deep learning method trained on longitudinal data that penalises unexpected temporal changes and learns a SUVR correction factor that compensates for any noise or bias in the reference region, resulting in an improved quantification.

Background: Triplication of the amyloid precursor protein in individuals with Down Syndrome (DS) produces an increased risk for the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Declining cholinergic integrity plays a role in the cognitive deficits observed in late-onset AD. In the present study, we assess the relationship between basal forebrain volume or [F]-FEOBV uptake and cognitive performance in adults with DS.
