An innovative structure-nanozeolites (as shell) grown with preferred orientation on ceramic nanofibers (as core)-was proposed. The Y-zeolite nanocrystals on TiO2 nanofibers exhibited superior ability to catalyze acetalization and carboxylation reactions, achieving high conversions to desired products with a selectivity of 100% under moderate conditions.

Introduction: Before performing cell therapy clinical trials, it is important to understand how cells are influenced by different growth conditions and to find optimal xeno-free medium formulations. In this study we have investigated the properties of adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ASCs) cultured under xeno-free conditions.
Methods: Human lipoaspirate samples were digested to yield the stromal vascular fraction cells which were then seeded in i) Minimum Essential Medium-α (MEM-α) supplemented with 10 % (v/v) fetal bovine serum (FBS), ii) MEM-α supplemented with 2 % (v/v) human platelet lysate (PLT) or iii) PRIME-XV MSC expansion XSFM xeno-free, serum free medium (XV).
Modification and deterioration of old-growth forests by industrial forestry have seriously threatened species diversity worldwide. The loss of natural habitats increases the concentration of circulating glucocorticoids and incurs chronic stress in animals, influencing the immune system, growth, survival, and lifespan of animals inhabiting such areas. In this study, we tested whether great tit () nestlings grown in old-growth unmanaged coniferous forests have longer telomeres than great tit nestlings developing in young managed coniferous forests.

This research explores consumer preferences and emotional reactions to beverages made from roasted barley and examines the possibility of launching a new product line featuring Streaker barley grown in the Pacific Northwest. Utilizing hedonic scales, just-about-right scales, and check-all-that-apply questions, a sensory evaluation was conducted. The study reveals two distinct consumer clusters, each exhibiting contrasting preferences and responses to novel beverages incorporating Streaker barley.

The carpet growth of alkali halide (AH) layers across step edges of substrates enables the growth of seamless and continuous large domains. Yet, information about how the AH layer adapts continuously to the height difference between the terraces on the two sides of a step is only described by continuum models, which do not give details of the ionic displacements. Here, we present a first study of thin epitaxial KCl(100) layers grown on the Ag(111) surface by scanning tunneling microscopy that provides atomistic details for the first time.

Introduction: Research on telework has grown dramatically in recent years, leading to a fragmented set of findings on its effect on workers' well-being. One of the most studied social mechanisms concerns how telework alters the transmission of social support between family members and coworkers, which turns out to be a mediating factor between teleworking and well-being. This research contributes to the understanding of this issue by analysing the existing evidence on the effect of telework on social support and well-being before, during and after the pandemic.
