PID controller auto-tuning based on process step response and damping optimum criterion.

This paper presents a novel method of PID controller tuning suitable for higher-order aperiodic processes and aimed at step response-based auto-tuning applications. The PID controller tuning is based on the identification of so-called n-th order lag (PTn) process model and application of damping optimum criterion, thus facilitating straightforward algebraic rules for the adjustment of both the closed-loop response speed and damping. The PTn model identification is based on the process step response, wherein the PTn model parameters are evaluated in a novel manner from the process step response equivalent dead-time and lag time constant. The effectiveness of the proposed PTn model parameter estimation procedure and the related damping optimum-based PID controller auto-tuning have been verified by means of extensive computer simulations.

This configuration implies that two of the six actuators are independently tilted using servomotors, which provide high maneuverability and reliability. Direct energy deposition is an additive technology that can quickly manufacture irregularly shaped quartz-glass devices. Based on this technology and coaxial laser/wire feeding, open-loop tests were conducted under different process parameters. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) is a master regulator of cellular homeostasis, overseeing the expression of a wide array of genes involved in cytoprotective processes such as antioxidant and proteostasis control, mitochondrial function, inflammation, and the metabolism of lipids and glucose. The accumulation of misfolded proteins triggers the release, stabilization, and nuclear translocation of NRF2, which in turn enhances the expression of critical components of both the proteasomal and lysosomal degradation pathways. This process facilitates the clearance of toxic protein aggregates, thereby actively maintaining cellular proteostasis.

This paper proposes an innovative approach to address the challenges of dynamic balance and external disturbances in ballbot systems, overcoming the limitations of conventional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers and their variants in handling highly nonlinear dynamics and external forces. Traditional PID controllers and their variants often have difficulty adapting to complex, real-time dynamic systems, leading to performance degradation under varying conditions. A nonlinear PID controller-based Takagi-Sugeno-Kang 3D Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (TSK3DCMAC) is introduced to overcome these shortcomings.
