Introduction: Around 1 in 20 patients experience avoidable healthcare-associated harm worldwide. Despite longstanding concerns, there is insufficient information available about the safety of healthcare for prisoners. Objective: Endometrial resection and ablation are minimal invasive surgeries used to treat women with abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). Both may be followed by a high reoperation rate up to 24%. However, some studies suggest that this may be improved by adding a levonorgestrel intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) immediately following surgery.

In esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, genetic activation of NRF2 increases resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which results in a significantly worse prognosis for patients. Therefore NRF2-activated cancers create an urgent clinical need to identify new therapeutic options. In this context, we previously identified the geldanamycin family of HSP90 inhibitors, which includes 17DMAG, to be synthetic lethal with NRF2 activity.

Background: Hip fractures are a source of severe pain among the elderly population and pose challenges due to limited analgesic tolerance. Perioperative methadone has shown promise in our pilot study suggesting a safe dose of 0.10 mg/kg, prompting further investigation into its benefits for elderly hip fracture patients.
