Through the use of aberration corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy, the atomic configuration of CdTe intragrain Shockley partial dislocation pairs has been determined: Single Cd and Te columns are present at opposite ends of both intrinsic and extrinsic stacking faults. These columns have threefold and fivefold coordination, indicating the presence of dangling bonds. Counterintuitively, density-functional theory calculations show that these dislocation cores do not act as recombination centers; instead, they lead to local band bending that separates electrons and holes and reduces undesirable carrier recombination.

The state-of-the-art approach to open reduction and fixation (ORIF) of zygoma fracture fragments is based on manual skills. Achieving high accuracy can be challenging. Our feasibility study on deceased body donors with artificial zygomatic fractures investigated whether virtual repositioning of the fractures and the use of customised 3D-printed titanium osteosynthesis plates was similar in accuracy to the conventional manual procedure, and whether the method was applicable in a clinical setting.

Aims: For displaced femoral neck fractures (FNFs) in geriatric patients, there remains uncertainty regarding the effect of total hip arthroplasty (THA) compared with hemiarthroplasty (HA) in the guidelines. We aimed to compare 90-day surgical readmission, in-hospital complications, and charges between THA and HA in these patients.
Methods: The Hospital Quality Monitoring System was queried from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2019 for displaced FNFs in geriatric patients treated with THA or HA.

Background: The risk factors for proximal radial abnormalities (PRA) in paediatric patients with untreated chronic Monteggia fractures (CMFs) are unclear. This multicentre study aimed to evaluate the risk factors for PRA in children with untreated CMFs.
Materials And Methods: The clinical data of 142 patients (mean age at the time of injury: 5.

To study the clinical efficacy of digital design combined with three-dimensional (3D) printing model minimally invasive extraction of complex impacted mandibular third molars. Eight patients who visited the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology from April 2023 to March 2024 were included, including 3 males and 5 females, aged from 27 to 57 years old. The impacted mandibular third molars of all patients were closely related to the mandibular canal, and part of the dental tissue entered the mandibular canal.

Background: The current study aims to analyze the effect of pre-operative non-bisphosphonate anti-osteoporotic drugs on complication and revision rates following total joint arthroplasty (TJA).
Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis of the PearlDiver (PearlDiver Technologies, Colorado Springs, CO) database was performed. The database was queried to identify all patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty (THA) or total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with history of hip or knee osteoarthritis and either osteopenia or osteoporosis.
