The University of Utah Clinical Innovation Fellowship models novel partnerships between third-party payers, clinical practices, and academia. While healthcare costs continue to increase unabated and physician burnout leads to provider shortages, this fellowship focuses on both crises by training pharmacists to establish new practices in ambulatory clinic spaces using funding provided by third-party payers. Not only does this fellowship represent a future in which pharmacists are able to address third-party payers' need to reduce healthcare costs and clinics' need to address provider shortages, it also successfully trained fellows to pursue jobs in ambulatory care and academia.

Background: Open tibial fractures are a cause of substantial orthopaedic morbidity in low- and middle-income countries. These injuries represent a substantial cost burden to both individual patients and society because of their high propensity for complications, such as infection, nonunion, and malunion. External fixation and intramedullary (IM) nailing are both utilized for definitive treatment of open tibial fractures, but given the differences in cost and lack of clear superiority of intramedullary nailing, cost-effectiveness becomes important to consider in low- and middle-income countries.

Guidelines shape clinical- or public-health practice decision-making. Trustworthy guidelines are systematically developed documents that include actionable statements based on evidence and a formal, structured and transparent decision process.

Introduction: The impacts of prurigo nodularis (PN) on healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and associated costs are unclear.
Methods: This retrospective, cross-sectional claims analysis (IQVIA PharMetrics Plus) compared HCRU and costs over 1 year in adults with PN versus matched controls (region, payer type, age, sex, year) from 2016 to 2019, and also in patients with PN receiving advanced versus localized/no therapy. For patients with data in multiple calendar years, 1 year was randomly selected.

For birds breeding in the Arctic, nest success is affected by the timing of nest initiation, which is partially determined by local conditions such as snow cover. However, conditions during the non-breeding season can carry over to affect the timing of breeding. We used tracking and breeding data from 248 individuals of 8 species and subspecies of Arctic-breeding shorebirds to estimate how the timing of nest initiation is related to local conditions like snowmelt phenology versus prior conditions, measured by the timing and speed of migration.
