We propose and test various strategies for the creation of artery phantoms mimicking different kinds of diseased arteries when imaged by intravascular optical coherence tomography (IVOCT). We first review the method for making healthy artery phantoms. We then describe the procedure to fabricate diseased artery phantoms with intima thickening, lipid pool, thin-capped fibroatheroma, calcification, and restenosis (homogeneous and layered) after stent apposition. For each case, a phantom is fabricated, an IVOCT image is obtained, and the image is compared to that of a real artery.

Objectives: Contrast agents are frequently administered in computed tomography (CT) scans used for opportunistic screening of osteoporosis. The objective of this study is to compare the impact of contrast-related bone mineral density (BMD) increase between phantom-based and internal CT calibration techniques.
Materials And Methods: Phantom-based and internal CT calibration techniques were used to determine trabecular BMD in 93 existing clinical CT scans of the lumbar spine of 34 subjects, scanned before and after administration of contrast agents.

Anomalous aortic origin of coronary artery can lead to ischemia. Due to the limitations of invasive catheterization dobutamine stress testing, an alternative noninvasive approach is desired. A 65-year-old woman with atypical chest pain was referred for coronary computed tomography angiography.

Significance: Pulse oximeter measurements are commonly relied upon for managing patient care and thus often require human testing before they can be legally marketed. Recent clinical studies have also identified disparities in their measurement of blood oxygen saturation by race or skin pigmentation.
Aim: The development of a reliable bench-top performance test method based on tissue-simulating phantoms has the potential to facilitate pre-market assessment and the development of more accurate and equitable devices.

Blood pressure (BP) is one of the vital physiological parameters, and its measurement is done routinely for almost all patients who visit hospitals. Cuffless BP measurement has been of great research interest over the last few years. In this paper, we aim to establish a method for cuffless measurement of BP using ultrasound.
