Sorption and desorption of aminocyclopyrachlor (6-amino-5-chloro-2-cyclopropylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid) were compared to that of the structurally similar herbicide picloram (4-amino-3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid) in three soils of differing origin and composition to determine if picloram data is representative of aminocyclopyrachlor behavior in soil. Aminocyclopyrachlor and picloram batch sorption data fit the Freundlich equation and was independent of concentration for aminocyclopyrachlor (1/n = 1), but not for picloram (1/n = 0.80-0.90). Freundlich sorption coefficients (K f) for aminocyclopyrachlor were lowest in the eroded and depositional Minnesota soils (0.04 and 0.12 μmol ((1-1/n)) L(1/n) kg(-1)) and the highest in Molokai soil (0.31 μmol ((1-1/n)) L(1/n) kg(-1)). For picloram, K f was lower in the eroded (0.28 μmol ((1-1/n)) L(1/n) kg(-1)) as compared to the depositional Minnesota soil (0.75 μmol ((1-1/n)) L(1/n) kg(-1)). Comparing soil to soil, K f for picloram was consistently higher than those found for aminocyclopyrachlor. Desorption of aminocyclopyrachlor and picloram was hysteretic on all three soils. With regard to the theoretical leaching potential based on groundwater ubiquity score (GUS), leaching potential of both herbicides was considered to be similar. Aminocyclopyrachlor would be ranked as leacher in all three soils if t1/2 was > 12.7 days. To be ranked as non-leacher in all three soils, aminocyclopyrachlor t1/2 would have to be <3.3 days. Calculated half-life that would rank picloram as leacher was calculated to be ∼15.6 d. Using the current information for aminocycloprachlor, or using picloram data as representative of aminocycloprachlor behavior, scientists can now more accurately predict the potential for offsite transport of aminocycloprachlor.

Using -rhizobia- interaction networks, we address first the soil invasion success of , and second, we report either -rhizobia partnership should form an isolated module within the symbiosis interaction network. Different indexes were used to determine model invasion success and the network topology. Our results indicated that invasion decreased soil microbial biomass, basal respiration, and enzymatic activities.

Introduction: Crop rotation of tobacco with other crops could effectively break the negative impact of continuous tobacco cropping, but the mechanisms of intercropping system effects on tobacco, especially on the rhizosphere, are not clear.
Methods: In this study, we investigated the impact of intercropping system on the diversity and function of tobacco metabolites and microorganisms through metabolomic and metagenomic analyses of the tobacco rhizosphere microenvironment intercropped with maize and soybean.
Results: The results showed that the contents of huperzine b, chlorobenzene, and P-chlorophenylalanine in tobacco rhizosphere soils differed significantly among soybean-tobacco and maize-tobacco intercropping system.

Wheat is an important cereal crop globally and in the United States, and is the largest crop grown by acreage in Colorado. In June 2023, we observed wheat fields displaying severe yellowing and virus-like disease symptoms in plants across seven eastern Colorado counties (Yuma, Prowers, Kit Carson, Washington, Sedgewick, Morgan, and Weld). Symptomatic plants were prominent in fields and appeared bright yellow, with ringspots, mosaic patterning, and streaking on leaves.

African eggplant (Solanum aethiopicum gilo group) is a nutritious vegetable widely commercialized in Ghana. In the 2021 planting season (May-July), collar rot symptoms were observed on African eggplant on a farm at Domeabra, Legon, and Okumaning in the Central (N5° 48' 11″, W1° 26' 48″), Greater Accra (N5° 39' 34″, W0° 11' 34″) and Eastern (N6° 8' 34″, W0° 55' 59″) regions of Ghana, respectively. Disease incidence was 8-15% in the different farms.

Comprehending the interplay between the microbial communities of bulk soil (BS) and rhizosphere soil (RS) holds crucial significance in maintaining soil health and fertility, as well as enhancing crop quality. Our research focused on examining these microbial communities in BS and RS of Acanthopanax senticosus, along with their correlation with soil nutrients, across three distinct habitats in Yichun, Heilongjiang Province. To achieve this, we employed high-throughput sequencing technology, specifically targeting the 16S and amplicon regions.
