Emerging evidence suggests cell exfoliation could be operating under the control of cell metabolism. It is unclear if there are associations between the concentration of exfoliated kidney proximal tubule cells (PTCs) in urine with glycemic control and complications. Our study is aimed at exploring this.

Background: The global prevalence of diabetes has been rising rapidly in recent years, leading to an increase in patients experiencing hyperglycemic crises like diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS). Patients with impaired renal function experience a delay in insulin clearance, complicating the adjustment of insulin dosing and elevating hypoglycemia risk. Accordingly, this study aims to evaluate the impact of renal function on the safety and efficacy of insulin use in patients with isolated DKA or combined DKA/HHS.

Introduction: Vericiguat, an oral stimulator of soluble guanylate cyclase, reduces cardiovascular mortality and hospitalisations in patients with heart failure (HF) and reduced ejection fraction, as demonstrated in the VICTORIA trial. This study assessed the real-world use of vericiguat.

Material And Methods: This cross-sectional, prospective and multicenter registry (VERISEC) included 776 patients from 43 centres in Spain between December 2022 and October 2023.

Background: Proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal immunoglobulin deposits (PGNMID) is a rare entity classified under the umbrella of monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance. The clinical implications of circulating monoclonal immunoglobulin (MIg), light chain restriction on immunofluorescence (IF) microscopy, histopathological pattern, and type of therapy on renal outcomes are not clearly defined.

Materials And Methods: Sixteen patients of PGNMID diagnosed between 2013 and 2020 were included from a biopsy registry of 11,459 patients at a single center.
