Helicobacter pylori infection is the most common human infection where approximately 50% of the world populations are infected. The diagnosis of such infection is mainly done by endoscopy where gastric biopsies are examined for the presence of H. pylori. Such invasive approach is costly, time consuming and generally requires more than one test to confirm the infection. Serology on the other hand is a non-invasive approach that can detect H. pylori exposure. The lateral flow immunoassays (LFIA) support the serological approach and have the advantage of being fast, economic and require no additional equipment or experience. In this review the principles, components of the LFIA, sensitivities and specificities of the commercially available H. pylori test strips were compared and discussed.

Nanoporous graphene (NPG), laterally bonded carbon nanoribbons, is a promising platform for controlling coherent electron propagation in the nanoscale. However, for its successful device integration NPG should ideally be on a substrate that preserves or enhances its anisotropic transport properties. Here, using an atomistic tight-binding model combined with nonequilibrium Green's functions, we study NPG on graphene and show that their electronic coupling is modulated as a function of the interlayer twist angle.

Despite being a high-resolution separation technique, deterministic lateral displacement (DLD) technology is facing multiple challenges with regard to design, manufacture, and operation of pertinent devices. This work specifically aims at alleviating difficulties associated with design and manufacture of DLD chips. The process of design and production of computer-aided design (CAD) mask layout files that are typically required for computational modeling analysis, optimization, as well as for manufacturing DLD-based micro/nanofluidic chips is complex, time-consuming, and often necessitates a high level of expertise in the field.

To assess the effectiveness of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) on electrocardiographic remodeling in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS), and identify its influencing factors. A cohort study was conducted on patients with a confirmed diagnosis of severe AS who successfully underwent TAVR at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University between June 2018 and March 2023. Data, including standard 15-lead electrocardiograms and echocardiograms, were collected before the operation, 1 week after the operation, and 3 months after the operation.

Background: The UK's National Health Service Test and Trace (NHSTT) program aimed to provide the most effective and accessible SARS-CoV-2 testing approach possible. Early user feedback indicated that there were accessibility issues associated with throat swabbing. We report the results of service evaluations performed by NHSTT to assess the effectiveness and user acceptance of swabbing approaches, as well as qualitative findings of user experiences from research reports, surveys, and incident reports.

The low sensitivity of Lateral flow assay (LFA) limits its application in rapid detection for trace targets. LFAs with nanozyme (nanozyme-LFA) as signal labels have demonstrated excellent performance in point of care testing (POCT). However, additional operational steps for substrate catalysis in nanozyme LFA are required, which makes the nanozyme-LFA operation complicated.
