Aim: To evaluate the various imaging features and associations on multidetector computed tomography (CT) angiography in patients with anomalous origin of left main coronary artery (LMCA) from pulmonary artery (ALCAPA).
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed multidetector CT angiography studies done for the evaluation of congenital heart diseases at our institution through 2014 to 2021. Cases with ALCAPA were identified and relevant history and imaging findings including the origin of coronary arteries, left ventricular (LV) morphology and functions, intercoronary collaterals, and associated abnormalities were evaluated.

To review the imaging characteristics of adult-type anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) and evaluate the post-operative echocardiographic features. The transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) records and invasive coronary angiography (ICA), coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) or operative findings of thirty adult patients with final diagnosis of ALCAPA were reviewed at our center. The diagnostic reliability of TTE was determined by comparing its results with that of ICA/CTA, and the echocardiographic features of the patients during early visit and post-operative follow-up were summarized.

The aim of this research is to investigate the application value of TTE in the diagnosis of the anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA).The echocardiographic findings of 11 patients with ALCAPA confirmed by surgery in our hospital from October 2007 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed and compared with the preoperative computed tomography angiography (CTA) diagnosis and intraoperative diagnosis.Surgery was performed in all of the patients to establish the dual coronary artery system.

Vieussens' ring is an embryologic remnant that acquires clinical significance as an intercoronary collateral vessel in advanced coronary artery disease. Its origin as a peritruncal structure early in embryologic development, and its association with congenital pulmonary artery fistula, provides a crucial insight into the early stages of the coronary circulation. This review describes the embryologic basis of Vieussens' ring in relation to the formation of the coronary arteries, which explains its location, appearance, and clinical importance.
