On the basis of their biomechanical experimental investigations on 10 metal models and 20 anatomic preparations of the ankle joint the authors have determined the quantitative parameters of the strength of tightening intertibial syndesmosis with a wire loop going round the transversal canals through the fibula and of the tibia. The reliability and the biomechanical validity of the method proposed by the authors have been confirmed by 39 clinical observations. The surgical technique is described.

Estimating how the human body moves in space and time-body kinematics-has important applications for industry, healthcare, and several research fields. Gold-standard methodologies capturing body kinematics are expensive and impractical for naturalistic recordings as they rely on infrared-reflective wearables and bulky instrumentation. To overcome these limitations, several algorithms have been developed to extract body kinematics from plain video recordings.

This study investigates the therapeutic potential of Msx1-overexpressing bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in enhancing tendon-bone healing in rotator cuff injuries. BMSCs were genetically modified to overexpress Msx1 and were evaluated in vitro for their proliferation, migration, and differentiation potential. Results demonstrated that Msx1 overexpression significantly increased BMSC proliferation and migration while inhibiting osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation.

In-stent restenosis represents a major cause of failure of percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stent implantation. Computational multiscale models have recently emerged as powerful tools for investigating the mechanobiological mechanisms underlying vascular adaptation processes during in-stent restenosis. However, to date, the interplay between intervention-induced inflammation, drug delivery and drug retention has been under-investigated.

Introduction: Multiple sclerosis has a substantial negative impact on physical activity (PA). However, limited knowledge exists on objectively measured PA levels and types across disability status along with its influence on walking capacity.
Objectives: To (1) determine PA levels/types in persons with MS (pwMS) (overall and across disability status) and in healthy controls (HC), and (2) investigate the association between PA levels/types and walking capacity.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a significant vascular condition characterized by the dilation of the abdominal aorta, presenting a substantial risk of rupture and associated high mortality rates. Current management strategies primarily rely on aneurysm diameter and growth rates to predict rupture risk and determine the timing of surgical intervention. However, this approach has limitations, as ruptures can occur in smaller AAAs below surgical thresholds, and many large AAAs remain stable without intervention.
