Background: Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) and fibrinolytic or thrombolytic therapy are common treatments for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Primary percutaneous coronary intervention is more effective than thrombolytic therapy, but fibrinolytic therapy is still a preferable option for patients with limited access to healthcare. Alteplase is a tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) used to treat acute myocardial infarction, acute ischemic stroke, and pulmonary embolism.

Background: Inadequate treatment of acute rejection (AR) in pediatric kidney transplant recipients (KTR) can contribute to early allograft failure. Serum creatinine is an insensitive marker of allograft function, especially in the pediatric population, and may not detect ongoing rejection after treatment. We evaluated the utility of follow-up biopsies to detect persistent inflammation and future episodes of rejection.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) presents a significant challenge in the management of critically ill patients, as it is associated with increased mortality, prolonged hospital stays, and increased healthcare costs. In certain conditions, such as during sepsis or after cardiac surgery, AKI is one of the most frequent complications, affecting 30%-50% of patients. Over time, even after the resolution of AKI, it can evolve into chronic kidney disease, a leading global cause of mortality, and cardiovascular complications.

Background: Identification of peripheral nerve injuries of the head and neck can be challenging due to a broad spectrum of symptoms from neuropathic pain to headaches and migraine. This article aimed to present the clinical features and diagnostic workup of patients with acute and chronic peripheral nerve injuries of the head and neck using magnetic resonance neurography (MRN), to demonstrate potential advantages compared with conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: Patients who presented with suspected peripheral nerve injury were either referred for a conventional MRI or MRN.
