Background: Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet drug commonly used in cardiovascular disease, is metabolized by the liver mainly through CYP2C19. Concomitant use of Proton pump inhibitors along with clopidogrel may affect the potency of clopidogrel by CYP2C19 inhibition. However, a novel PPI, ilaprazole is known to differ in its pharmacokinetic features, given the potential differences between ilaprazole's interactions and their metabolism with clopidogrel.

Declines in lysosomal acidification and function with aging are observed in organisms ranging from yeast to humans. V-ATPases play a central role in organelle acidification, and V-ATPase activity is regulated by reversible disassembly in many different settings. Using the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a replicative aging model, we demonstrate that V-ATPases disassemble into their V and V subcomplexes in aging cells, with release of V subunit C (Vma5) from the lysosome-like vacuole into the cytosol.

Background: Efficacy of eradication regimens in (Hp) infection is commonly reported with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). In patients with corpus atrophic gastritis, characterized by impaired acid secretion, PPI treatment is questionable.
Objectives: The current study aimed to assess in clinical practice the tolerability and eradication rate of modified eradication regimens without PPI as first-line treatment in patients with histologically Hp-positive corpus atrophic gastritis.

Background: This study reports outcomes of the RefluxStop procedure treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in clinical practice at a high-volume regional hospital in Germany.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 79 patients with chronic GERD that underwent the RefluxStop procedure, comprising high mediastinal dissection, loose cruroplasty, esophagogastroplication between vagal trunks, and fundus invagination of the RefluxStop implant. The primary outcome was GERD Health-Related Quality-of-Life (GERD-HRQL) score and improvement from baseline.
