Purpose: To report unusual presentations of type 2A idiopathic macular telangiectasia (IMT).
Methods: A retrospective analysis of disease presentation was conducted in 32 patients with type 2A IMT. All patients underwent a complete ophthalmological examination, including spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), fluorescein angiography (FA) and indocyanine green angiography (ICGA).
Results: Three out of 32 study patients showed the simultaneous presentation of type 2 IMT and other retinal diseases. In the first patient, the ophthalmological examination revealed a proliferative IMT associated with late-onset Stargardt disease. The second patient presented bilateral nonproliferative IMT and chronic serous chorioretinopathy in the left eye. The examination of the third patient revealed basal laminar drusen and soft drusen associated with IMT in both eyes.
Conclusions: Type 2 IMT may represent an unusual presentation of Stargardt disease, chronic serous chorioretinopathy and basal laminar drusen. These presentations are most likely coincidental and highlight the importance of FA, ICGA and SD-OCT in the diagnosis and treatment of such cases.

Microplastic particles are ubiquitous in aquatic environments and are considered a major threat to the large range of heterotrophic organisms that involuntarily consume them. However, there is current uncertainty around the mechanisms underpinning microplastic uptake by aquatic consumers and the consequences for both the fate of the microplastics and the growth potential of consumer populations. We performed a feeding experiment, exposing a model freshwater ciliate, Tetrahymena pyriformis, to six different microplastic concentrations and measured microplastic uptake and population growth over the course of several generations.

Aims: This study aimed to develop Imatinib Mesylate (IMT)-loaded Poly Lactic-co-Glycolic Acid (PLGA)-D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate (TPGS)- Polyethylene glycol (PEG) hybrid nanoparticles (CSLHNPs) with optimized physicochemical properties for targeted delivery to glioblastoma multiforme.
Background: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most destructive type of brain tumor with several complications. Currently, most treatments for drug delivery for this disease face challenges due to the poor blood-brain barrier (BBB) and lack of site-specific delivery.

This article proposes using the extended Kalman filter (EKF) for recurrent neural network (RNN) training and fault estimation within a parabolic-trough solar plant. The initial step involves employing an RNN to model the system. Given the challenge of fault discernibility in the collectors, parallel EKFs are employed to reconstruct the parameters of the faults.

There is increasing evidence that geogenic (Earth-derived) particles can induce adverse biological effects upon inhalation, though there is high variability in particle bioreactivity that is associated with particle source and physicochemical properties. In this study, we investigated physicochemical properties and biological reactivity of volcanic ash from the April 2021 eruption of La Soufrière volcano, St.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare tumor type with a prognosis ranging from benign to locally aggressive. Initially described as a reactive lesion most commonly of the lungs, cases of IMT have now been reported in rare instances in the head and neck, which may be more aggressive than other tumor locations. IMT frequently afflicts children and adolescents, but pediatric cases of IMT in the head and neck region are rare.
