Use of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) has been infrequently described in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and is most commonly used in patients with catatonia. In this report, we describe the use of ECT in a young adolescent girl who had bipolar affective disorder associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and was treated with ECT for the depressive episode. The patient achieved remission with a course of 6 ECT treatments.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the relationship between autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs) and the risk of iridocyclitis (IC) using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Methods: Data of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), Behcet's disease (BD), and iridocyclitis were obtained from genome-wide association studies with large sample sizes. The instrumental variable utilized in this study for each exposure was the single nucleotide polymorphism.

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the preliminary effectiveness of an electronic pill bottle with automated reminders on hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) adherence in children with pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (pSLE).
Methods: This was a self-controlled, open label, direct-to-family pilot trial. Children with pSLE treated with HCQ were recruited from the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry.
