Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Background: The geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) is a tool to assess preoperative nutritional status that can be calculated simply based on height, weight, and serum albumin. This study assesses the utility of GNRI in predicting postoperative complications in patients undergoing major head and neck cancer (HNC) surgery.
Methods: Retrospective review of the 2016-2020 National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database.

Objective: This study aims to perform a meta-analysis that integrates multiple literature sources to evaluate the clinical efficacy of oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) versus minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF) for treating lumbar degenerative diseases (LDD).
Methods: A systematic search was conducted across various databases, including CNKI, VIP, WANFANG DATA, SinoMed, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science, for clinical comparative studies on OLIF and MIS-TLIF for treating LDD, covering the time frame from the inception of the databases to September 2024. Following PRISMA guidelines, studies were screened, assessed, and data were extracted rigorously.

Department of Neurological Surgery, The First College of Clinical Medical Science, China Three Gorges University, Yichang Central People's Hospital, 183 Yiling Avenue, Yichang City, Wujiagang District, China.
Objective: The study aims to identify characteristics that impact the postoperative prognosis and recurrence of intracranial dissecting aneurysms (IDA) patients treated using multi-stent overlapping techniques.
Methods: Clinical data from 69 IDA patients treated with multistate-assisted spring coil embolization at the hospital between January 2017 and October 2023 were retrospectively reviewed, including clinical and imaging data gathered at admission and discharge. The prognosis was determined based on mRS grade at discharge, and the patients were divided into excellent prognosis (mRS 0-2 points) and poor prognosis (mRS 3-6 points).

Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Purpose: Black adolescents in the United States face disproportionate poor nutrition and obesity risk due to racism. Intersections of larger structural contexts that pose differential access to Black adolescents' health resources, such as state-level racism and neighborhood-level disadvantage, may govern these risks. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine the associations between state-level racism, neighborhood disadvantage, and their intersection with nutrition and obesity for Black adolescents in a longitudinal study.
