Metazoan parasites have played a major role in shaping innate immunity in animals. Insect hosts and parasitoid wasps are excellent models for illuminating how animal innate immune systems have evolved to neutralize these enemies. One such strategy relies on symbioses between insects and intracellular bacteria that express phage-encoded toxins.

An intraoral fluoride-releasing device (IFRD) is a cost-effective tool for introducing fluoride into the oral cavity. It allows prolonged uptake of low concentrations of fluoride into teeth. We developed a new IFRD using 3D additive manufacturing and a new low-release fluoride gel.

Organic semiconductors have been widely studied owing to their potential applications in various devices, such as field-effect transistors, light-emitting diodes, solar cells, and image sensors. However, they have a limitation of significantly lower carrier mobility compared to silicon, which is a widely used inorganic semiconductor. Therefore, to address such limitations, these molecules should be further explored.

Following the concept, we establish an aberration-correction scheme by using a holographic optical tweezers setup equipped with a spatial light modulator that produces the LG beam as well as corrects the light wavefront. The light wavefront is modified adaptively to improve circular symmetry and uniformity of the orbit of a colloidal dielectric sphere revolving in mid-water under the irradiation of the LG beam.
