Introduction: Myoelectric control systems translate different patterns of electromyographic (EMG) signals into the control commands of diverse human-machine interfaces via hand gesture recognition, enabling intuitive control of prosthesis and immersive interactions in the metaverse. The effect of arm position is a confounding factor leading to the variability of EMG characteristics. Developing a model with its characteristics and performance invariant across postures, could largely promote the translation of myoelectric control into real world practice.

Environmental issues have resulted in the forming of sustainable materials, including natural fiber-reinforced PLA composites; nonetheless, this composite has low water resistance, resulting in poor composite performance. This research aims to investigate the impact of adding a small amount of graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) on the water absorption (WA) characteristic of bamboo/kenaf-reinforced PLA hybrid composites. The physical behavior and water resistance of the composites, as well as the mechanical performance and surface after 14 days of immersion, were comprehensively investigated.

Background: Virtual reality (VR) has been proposed as a technology to support mindfulness practice through promoting increased engagement and presence. The proposed benefits of this technology have been largely unexamined with clinical populations. Further research is required to understand its clinical potential and utility in improving and managing mental health symptoms.

Human-computer interface (HCI) and electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are widely used in user experience (UX) interface designs to provide immersive interactions with the user. In the context of UX, EEG signals can be used within a metaverse system to assess user engagement, attention, emotional responses, or mental workload. By analyzing EEG signals, system designers can tailor the virtual environment, content, or interactions in real time to optimize UX, improve immersion, and personalize interactions.
