In ion-pair catalysis, the last intermediate structures prior to the stereoselective transition states are of special importance for predictive models due to the high isomerization barrier between - and -substrate double bonds connecting ground and transition state energies. However, in prior experimental investigations of chiral phosphoric acids (CPA) solely the early intermediates could be investigated while the key intermediate remained elusive. In this study, the first experimental structural and conformational insights into ternary complexes with CPAs are presented using a special combination of low temperature and relaxation optimized N HSQC-NOESY NMR spectroscopy to enhance sensitivity.

Background: Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) is a relatively rare type of stroke, accounting for less than 3% of all stroke cases, and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality in young females. However, when promptly diagnosed and treated, it can have favorable outcomes. Several knowledge gaps remain regarding pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of CVST, so critical assessment of past and present research could help close these gaps or establish targeted future research goals.

There are no published guidelines regarding remotely training research assistants (RAs) to conduct neuropsychological tests. With technological advances allowing for increased international collaboration within the medical and research communities, challenges often arise from such partnerships, including linguistic, cultural, and physical barriers. A notable challenge for supervising neuropsychologists in international projects is the physical distance from RAs, sites, and materials, making training/supervision of RAs and monitoring test data quite challenging.

Varicellovirus bovinealpha (BoAHV) 1 and 5 are closely related neurotropic alphaherpesviruses with distinct neuropathogenic potential. BoAHV-5 causes meningoencephalitis in calves whereas encephalitis by BoAHV-1 infection is sporadic. the mechanisms underlying the differences in tropism and clinical outcomes of the infections are not yet completely understood.
