Introduction: Facemask(FM) is an orthopedic appliance with extraoral and intraoral anchoring units used in treatment of maxillary retrognathia. Aim of this study was to assess effects of tooth-supported FM application via fixed orthodontic appliances on craniofacial structures with finite element stress analysis.
Materials And Methods: A model was constructed on maxillary teeth with Roth brackets (0.

Case Summary: A 10-year-old castrated male crossbreed Birman cat was presented for respiratory difficulties, nasal discharge, dysphagia and wheezing. An obstructive nasopharyngeal mass invading the caudoventral nasal cavity and the left sphenoid sinus was observed on a CT scan. Surgical treatment via a ventral rhinotomy and curettage was performed.

Aims: It was the scope of this study to explore the biomechanical implications of retraction force application point modifications in lingual orthodontics, aiming to mitigate the bowing effect and enhance anchorage stability in the anterior teeth.
Methods: Using the FE method on an idealized maxillary model, en masse retraction was simulated using a modified lingual fixed appliance including edgewise lingual brackets, a 0.017″ × 0.
Objectives: To investigate the effects of transpalatal (TPA) wire dimension and temporary skeletal anchorage device (TSAD) position on maxillary molar intrusion.
Materials And Methods: The maxillary molar intrusion measurement system included a maxillary acrylic model, TPA, TSADs, and a three-dimensional Force/Moment (F/M) sensor. The intrusion patterns were categorized into six groups: buccal-mesial, buccal-distal, buccal-mesiodistal, palatal-mesial, palatal-distal, and palatal-mesiodistal.

Objective: This narrative review aimed to evaluate, based on current evidence, whether the transpalatal arch (TPA) and Nance appliance can effectively reinforce anchorage during fixed orthodontic treatment while also offering a comprehensive and in-depth overview of the existing literature on this subject.
Materials And Methods: A thorough literature search was performed across multiple electronic databases to identify peer-reviewed articles relevant to the review.
Results: Evidence suggests that the Nance appliance does not provide absolute anchorage.
