We summarize the uses of anterior segment endoscopic techniques and the basic science and technology of endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) as compared with transscleral cyclophotocoagulation. This is followed by an analysis of patient selection for ECP, a description of surgical techniques, and clinical results. In addition, the ophthalmic endoscope has other uses in anterior segment surgeries. We discuss the techniques for these endoscope-assisted surgeries.

Background: Stress hyperglycaemia ratio (SHR) has been reported to be independently and significantly associated with various adverse cardiovascular events as well as mortality. Moreover, in-hospital heart failure following acute myocardial infarction has been demonstrated to account for majority of all heart failure (HF) cases with anterior myocardial infarction showing higher rates of HF. However, the association between SHR and in-hospital HF following an anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has not been reported earlier.

Backgrounds: Aberrant brain structures in schizophrenia have been widely explored. However, the causal effects of negative symptoms on brain structural alterations are still unclear. This study aims to explore the synchronous and progressive alterations in gray matter volume (GMV) associated with negative symptoms.

Background: Cryoballoon ablation has been widely performed in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). In some challenging pulmonary veins (PVs), the procedure requires additional touch-up applications against the residual conduction gaps. It implies that there could exist difficult sites to cover with standard cryoballoon applications (CBAs), resulting in resistant conduction gaps (RCGs).

We describe a novel technique for recurrent pterygium and assess the advantage of properties of extended tenonectomy, amniotic membrane transplantation, and limbal epithelial transplantation in terms of recurrence rate, postoperative symptoms, postoperative orthoptics, and other complications. A total of nine eyes with recurrent pterygium underwent PERMISLET, i.e.

Material And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed data from 92 patients aged 32 to 89 years, and included 56 patients with PACD (43 with natural lenses and 13 with pseudophakia) and 36 in the control group (21 with natural lenses and 15 with pseudophakia). All participants underwent SS-OCT (CASIA2; Tomey Corporation, Japan), which included an assessment of the ITC Index and ITC Area.
