Rationale And Objectives: This article addresses the medical and legal implications of disruptive physician behavior. In addition, this article will address the appropriate use of due process in peer review of disruptive physician behavior.
Conclusions: While most hospitals and even national organizations, like the American Medical Association, have definitions for what constitutes disruptive physician behavior, these definitions have been further examined and clarified in court rulings. These court rulings not only further clarify what constitutes disruptive behavior but also establish a threshold for revocation/nonrenewal of a physician's hospital privileges.

The diagnosis and early identification of intratracheal tumors relies on the experience of the operators and the specialists. Operations by physicians with insufficient experience may lead to misdiagnosis or misjudgment of tumors. To address this issue, a datasets for intratracheal tumor detection has been constructed to simulate the diagnostic level of experienced specialists, and a Knowledge Distillation-based Memory Feature Unsupervised Anomaly Detection (KD-MFAD) model was proposed to learn from this simulated experience.

Background And Aims: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), the most prevalent liver disease worldwide, continues to rise. More effective therapeutic strategies are urgently needed. We investigated how targeting two key nuclear receptors involved in hepatic energy metabolism, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) and estrogen-related receptor alpha (ERRα), ameliorates MASLD.

Background/aim: Pharmacotherapy is vital in medicine, but inappropriate and inadequate use of medications significantly impacts global mortality and morbidity. Increased prescribing may indicate irrational use or prolonged illness, while decreased prescribing could suggest undertreatment, supply shortages, or the availability of safer and, more effective treatments. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted health systems, potentially altering prescribing patterns.

Aim: Hypothyroidism is created by disruption of thyroid hormone production, which can destroy the emotional, relational, social, and working life of patients if left untreated. Hypothyroidism has multiple etiologies. We evaluated the relationship of hematological parameters and inflammatory biomarkers with thyroid hormones to find the potential use of these items in patients screening and prognosis.

Background: During coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), people managing multiple chronic conditions (MCCs) experienced barriers to obtaining needed medications. The purposes of this paper are to (i) determine risk factors for difficulty obtaining medications during COVID-19, (ii) document reasons for the difficulty, and (iii) evaluate the impact on later physical and mental health outcomes.
Method: In a randomized controlled trial conducted in 2016-2021, 1969 adult primary care patients were surveyed about physical and mental health both before and during COVID-19.
