Introduction: In recent years, erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Er:YAG) and erbium, chromium/yttrium-scandium-gallium-garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) lasers have been introduced as another possibility to perform less-invasive flapless (FL) crown-lengthening (CL) procedures.
Objectives: The aim of this review is to describe the outcomes and complications of this approach.
Materials And Methods: A literature review was conducted to retrieve clinical studies and case reports that analyze different variables related to laser-assisted flapless crown lengthening and report their outcomes in terms of gingival margin level stability (GMLS), and postoperative complications.

Ablative fractional laser-assisted drug delivery has gained attention as a promising method for enhancing dermal drug absorption and improving therapeutic outcomes in dermatological conditions, particularly for hypertrophic and keloid scars. However, despite the growing number of clinical trials and case reports supporting its efficacy, there remains a scarcity of robust evidence on the topical bioavailability and dermato-pharmacokinetics of drugs in human subjects. This study aimed to examine the enhancement of triamcinolone acetonide (TAC) bioavailability following treatment with a fractional Erbium-Doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Er: YAG) laser.

Laser-activated irrigation (LAI) of root canal systems depends on the generation of cavitation bubbles in the endodontic irrigant. Physical studies thus far focused on pulse energy, pulse length, frequency, and fiber tip shape, mostly in plain water. This study investigated the effect of endodontically relevant molecules (sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP), and their combination) in water on physical properties of the resulting solution, and their impact on primary cavitation bubble features.

In the dynamic landscape of the tech industry, the escalating requirement for swift and secure data transmission has catalyzed innovation in integrated communication systems. Free-Space Optics (FSOs) has emerged as a promising contender in optical communications. While conventional optical fiber systems can achieve bit rates of up to 40 Gbps with proper design, they are limited primarily by electronics rather than semiconductor laser capabilities.

Lasers from the erbium family have been investigated to activate irrigation with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), improving the disinfection depth of the dentinal tubules of the root canal walls during root canal treatment. However, the possibility of laser-activated irrigation (LAI) in retro-cavity preparation has not been investigated to the date. The aim of our experimental study is to evaluate the efficacy of NaOCl gel penetration inside the dentinal tubules when activated during retro-cavity preparation, comparing passive ultrasonic activation (PUI) and Er,Cr:YSGG LAI.
