Background Emerging research suggests a correlation between poor oral health and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), with inflammation being a central mechanism. Periodontitis and gingivitis are chronic inflammatory diseases that can lead to systemic health issues if untreated. It has been indicated previously that endodontic infections and missing teeth may contribute to elevated cardiovascular risk, and smoking exacerbates both periodontal and cardiovascular conditions.

It is also indicated for nocturnal sedation in all types of patients and especially for the ill, the young, and the elderly patients. A review of the therapeutic uses of chloral hydrate reveals the need for flexibility in dosing, especially in children.

The dearth of approved products to treat oral lichen planus (OLP) compels off-label use of dermatological corticosteroid formulations not optimized for indications in the oral cavity. The aims of this study were to develop aqueous micelle based formulations of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) and fluocinonide (FLU), using D-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate, and to investigate corticosteroid delivery to the epithelium-lamina propria junction region - the anatomical target for OLP treatment - in comparison to that from marketed products. Total mucosal deposition of TA after application of Kenacort® A Orabase® (0.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the leading causes of vision loss among people of working age. However, people with diabetes are often unaware of the importance of DR screening for preserving vision, highlighting the importance of patient education about DR and DR-related ocular and systemic comorbidities. Background: The aim of the present parallel clinical study is to evaluate the efficacy of 3D-printed biopolymers compounded with osteoconductive material (beta-tricalcium phosphate and hydroxyapatite) for soft tissue closure after tooth extraction.
Materials And Methods: this study followed the CONSORT reporting guidelines; 39 patients were treated with socket preservation using 3D-printed biopolymers and randomly divided into 3 groups (Test 1, Test 2, and Control). All cases were treated without flap elevation, careful cleaning and debridement of the sites, and then randomly sealed as follows: In T1, with a 3D-printed disk of poli-D-lactic acid with 10% of hydroxyapatite; in T2, using a 3D-printed disk of poli-ε caprolactone with 20% of β-tricalcium phosphate; and in T3, the socket was left open to heal.
