Noncirrhotic portal hypertension (NCPH) is a rare but important clinical entity in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) populations. The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical factors associated with the condition in an effort to formulate a diagnostic algorithm for easy and early diagnosis. We performed a multicenter, retrospective case-control study of 34 patients with NCPH and 68 control HIV patients. The study found that thrombocytopenia, splenomegaly, didanosine use, elevated aminotransferases, and an elevated alkaline phosphatase level were all significantly more prevalent in the NCPH cohort. Using these easily available clinical parameters, we developed an algorithm for early diagnosis of NCPH in HIV.
Background: Prosthetic socket is a key component of the prosthesis for clinical application; its performance directly affects the adaptation of the residual limb to the prosthetic socket. There are long-term and short-term volume fluctuation of the residual limb. The volume fluctuation of the residual limb will lead to the pressure mismatch at the interface of the residual limb and the prosthetic socket, which will cause a series of skin and fit problems.

Since its introduction in 2001, multiple platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) centrifugation protocols have emerged, but the variations in growth factor release that result from these protocols remain unclear. This review aimed to evaluate growth factor release across three PRF protocols: leukocyte-PRF (L-PRF), advanced-PRF (A-PRF/+), and injectable-PRF (i-PRF). A comprehensive search was conducted using the MEDLINE and Embase databases, identifying 14 studies that met the inclusion criteria.
