Boundaries between work and private life are diminishing, but little is known on how this influences worker health. Therefore, we examined the association between work-related contacts outside of regular working hours by e-mail or phone and self-reported health in a representative sample of European employees (n = 23 760). The risk of reporting ≥1 health problem(s) was increased in workers contacted sometimes (odds ratio [OR]: 1.16, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.06-1.27) or often (OR: 1.23, 95% CI: 1.12-1.34) as compared with never, controlling for several demographic and workplace characteristics. Further research is needed to quantify work and nonwork patterns and their health effects.

Technetium-99m plays a pivotal role in nuclear medicine, offering unique IMAGING capabilities due to its favorable physical and chemical properties. This study investigates the redox behavior and electronic structures of three representative Tc(V) oxo complexes, [TcO(HMPAO)], [TcO(Bicisate)], and [TcO(DMSA)], using computational techniques. Employing relativistic density functional theory with the Zero-Order Regular Approximation (ZORA), we analyze singlet-triplet energy gaps, Gibbs free energy changes, and redox potentials in neutral and acidic environments.

Infrared array sensor-based fall detection and activity recognition systems have gained momentum as promising solutions for enhancing healthcare monitoring and safety in various environments. Unlike camera-based systems, which can be privacy-intrusive, IR array sensors offer a non-invasive, reliable approach for fall detection and activity recognition while preserving privacy. This work proposes a novel method to distinguish between normal motion and fall incidents by analyzing thermal patterns captured by infrared array sensors.

Flexible, wearable, piezoresistive sensors have significant potential for applications in wearable electronics and electronic skin fields due to their simple structure and durability. Highly sensitive, flexible, piezoresistive sensors with the ability to monitor laryngeal articulatory vibration supply a new, more comfortable and versatile way to aid communication for people with speech disorders. Here, we present a piezoresistive sensor with a novel microstructure that combines insulating and conductive properties.

Background/objectives: Musculoskeletal symptoms, such as neck pain, back pain, and eye strain, are prevalent in modern work environments, particularly among individuals engaged in prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks. This study aimed to explore the prevalence of these symptoms and the impact of ergonomic tool usage, break frequency, posture awareness, and proactive measures on symptom intensity and daily functioning.
Methods: This cross-sectional pilot study used a self-developed questionnaire to assess the prevalence and intensity of musculoskeletal symptoms among participants aged 6-18 years.
