Purpose: Investigate the effectiveness of repair of iridodialysis with 8-0 polypropylene.

Methods: We present four cases of traumatic iridodialysis that were repaired by 8-0 polypropylene suture.

Results: Better iris reposition and stability were achieved with 8-0 polypropylene suture despite wide degree traumatic iridodialysis in all patients.

Conclusion: In this study, we used 8-0 polypropylene suture, which is thicker, cheaper, and more durable than 10-0 sutures. We suggest that usage of 8-0 polypropylene sutures may provide better iris repositioning.

Introduction: An inguinal hernia is frequently identified in men with prostate cancer, which is likely due to similar risk factors, including age, gender and smoking.

Aim: To assess the safety and feasibility of performing concomitant robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and robotic-assisted transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) inguinal hernia repair.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the treatment outcomes of 23 patients who underwent RARP between January 2022 and June 2023.

Microplastics have polluted agricultural soils, posing a substantial risk to crop productivity. Moreover, the presence of microplastic pollution has caused a disturbance in the composition of the microbial community in the soil surrounding plant roots, therefore impacting the growth of beneficial bacteria. A study was conducted to examine if humic acid (HA) can counteract the harmful effects of microplastics (MPs) on the growth of black gram crops and the composition of the rhizosphere soil microbial community, to reduce the negative impacts of microplastics on these microorganisms and crops.

Study on Ratio Optimization and Diffusion-Gelation Process of Polymer Grouting Materials for Fracture Filling in Underground Mines.

Materials (Basel)

June 2024

Department of Geology, College of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University, Shenyang 110819, China.

The existence of fissures poses a serious threat to the safe production of underground mines, and this paper investigates a polymer grouting material for filling fissures in underground mines. To optimise the ratio of polymer grouting materials, this paper designed 16 test groups using the orthogonal test method to find the most reasonable slurry ratio. In order to study the gel diffusion process of polymer slurry in the fissure and to explore the changes of various parameters of the slurry after injection, simulated grouting tests were carried out, and the distribution laws of viscosity, pressure, and diffusion distance of the slurry were discussed.

The aim of this study is to describe a modified technique for internal refixation of dislocated scleral-sutured polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) intraocular lenses (IOLs) with eyelets. Three-port pars plana vitrectomy was performed. Through the scleral fixation site, a 30-gauge needle loaded with an 8-0 polypropylene suture was inserted into the vitreous cavity.
