We aimed to explore the role of Amino acid metabolism (AAM) and identify biomarkers for prognosis management and treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with AAM in lung adenocarcinoma were selected from public databases. Samples were clustered into varying subtypes using ConsensusClusterPlus based on gene levels.

Background: Glucose transporter 1 deficiency syndrome (Glut1DS) was initially reported by De Vivo and colleagues in 1991. This disease arises from mutations in the SLC2A1 and presents with a broad clinical spectrum. It is a treatable neuro-metabolic condition, where prompt diagnosis and initiation of ketogenic dietary therapy can markedly enhance the prognosis.

Various preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative strategies aimed at reducing opioid consumption can be used by orthopaedic surgeons to help minimize this crisis. Preoperative screening tools can help identify patients at risk for prolonged opioid use, allowing for tailored interventions and counseling.

There are several elements in an effective multimodal protocol, including oral medications, periarticular injection, regional nerve blocks, and spinal and general anesthesia. Many nonopioid medications are often used, such as acetaminophen and NSAIDs.
