Objective: To develop a knowledge assessment tool to assess baseline knowledge and current practice regarding maternal-fetal medicine.
Methods: A literature search was complemented with categorization of questions under five predefined domains related to maternal-fetal medicine. The final questionnaire was sent for expert review, cultural adaptation, and piloting, with feedback incorporated accordingly.
Results: A questionnaire was developed consisting of questions pertaining to demographics, knowledge, and current practice.
Conclusions: This tool is of interest to researchers, educators, and clinicians aiming to assess baseline knowledge, current curricula (both entry-to-practice and graduate) and continuing education opportunities for practicing pharmacists.

This proposal presents a proof of concept for the use of pulmonary flow restrictors (PFRs) based on MVP™-devices, drawing from clinical experience, and explores their potential role in the management of newborns with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), other complex left heart lesions, and infants with end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). At this early stage of age, manually adjusted PFRs can be tailored to patient's size and hemodynamic needs. Although currently used off-label, PFRs have substantial potential to improve outcomes in these vulnerable patient populations.

Purpose: Structured abdominal examination is an essential part of the medical curriculum and surgical training, requiring a blend of theory and practice from trainees. Current training methods, however, often do not provide adequate engagement, fail to address individual learning needs or do not cover rare diseases.
Methods: In this work, an application for structured Abdominal Examination Training using Augmented Reality (AETAR) is presented.

The paper presents a new sensor-less voltage and frequency control method for a stand-alone doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) feeding an isolated load. The proposed control approach directly regulates the magnitude and angle of the rotor-flux vector rather than controlling rotor currents or voltages as in classic field oriented control (FOC). To accurately regulate the magnitude and frequency of stator voltage, two separate closed-loop based PI regulators are employed to evaluate the reference signals of the rotor flux vector magnitude and angle, respectively.

Mucosal tissues, including those in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, are critical barrier surfaces for pathogen invasion. Infections at these sites not only trigger local immune response, but also recruit immune cells from other tissues. Emerging evidence in mouse models and human samples indicate that the immune crosstalk between lung and gut critically impact and determine the course of respiratory disease.
