A 47-year-old woman was diagnosed as advanced gastric cancer of cardia(poorly-differentiated adenocarcionoma), with multiple para-aortic lymph node and liver metastasis, in March, 2005. We attempted neo-adjuvant chemotherapy with docetaxel(DOC), cisplatin(CDDP), and S-1(DCS). After 3 courses of DCS, we confirmed that the para-aortic lymph nodes and liver metastasis became small. Then, we were able to perform total gastrectomy, splenectomy, and D2 lymph node dissection. Additionally, we performed an intraoperative radiofrequency ablation to the scar of the liver metastasis. Histopathologically, we identified lymph node metastases in #1 and #16b1 pre. S-1 and DOC were administered as adjuvant chemotherapy. At seven years since the operation, the patient has shown no signs of recurrence. Combined modality therapy for advanced gastric cancer diagnosed with stage IV can be an effective treatment, so we hope that it will be established as a standard therapy.

Background: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and its associated pain negatively affect patient outcomes and quality of life (QoL). The two-part MiroCIP study included interventional and prospective observational studies. Here, we report the latter, describing CIPN incidence, risk factors, and outcomes.

Background: This study aims to develop an oral microbiota-based model for gastric cancer (GC) risk stratification and prognosis prediction.
Methods: Oral microbial markers for GC prognosis and risk stratification were identified from 99 GC patients, and their predictive potential was validated on an external dataset of 111 GC patients. The identified bacterial markers were used to construct a Deep Neural Network (DNN) model, a Random Forest (RF) model, and a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model for predicting GC prognosis.

-associated gastritis (HPAG) is a common condition of the gastrointestinal tract. However, extensive and long-term antibiotic use has resulted in numerous adverse effects, including increased resistance, gastrointestinal dysfunction, and increased recurrence rates. When these concerns develop, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may have advantages.

Erythropoietin-producing hepatocellular (Eph) receptors comprise the largest group of surface receptors and are responsible for cellular signals. Eph/ephrin signaling has been identified to play a role in key cancer development and progression processes, especially in the upper gastrointestinal tract. The Eph/ephrin system has been described as a tumor suppressor in duodenal cancer, while in esophageal, gastric, hepatic, and pancreatic cancer, the system has been related to tumor progression.

Gastric Linitis plastica is characterized by extensive infiltration of gastric wall by poorly differentiated tumor cells, creating a "leather-bottle stomach" appearance. We describe a case involving a 71-year-old male presenting with globus sensation, early satiety and weight loss. Recent EGD had revealed chronic gastritis with polypoid mucosa at the GE junction, and subsequent FDG-PET indicated asymmetric FDG localization.
