Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is a complex, debilitating condition that is increasingly being treated in interdisciplinary clinics. Patients see peripheral nerve surgeons, neurologists, physiatrists, and electrodiagnostic technicians in a single encounter. No studies have evaluated patient experience within this unique interdisciplinary care model.

In the present in vitro study, we evaluated the adhesion of an injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) to laser-textured zirconia surfaces and their resultant friction behavior against bone tissue. Three types of zirconia surfaces were compared regarding the i-PRF coating effects: 1) grit blasted with 250-μm spherical alumina particles and acid etched with 20% hydrofluoric acid (ZLA), 2) laser textured with a random (RD) surface pattern, or 3) laser textured with a designed pattern based on 16 lines and 8 passages (L16N8). The coefficient of friction (COF) of the specimens was assessed on a reciprocating sliding pin-on-plate tribometer at 1-N normal load, 1 Hz, and a 2-mm stroke length.

Background: While prosthesis-associated malignancies have been acknowledged, awareness among surgeons and patients in the ophthalmologic field remains limited, despite the frequent occurrence of prosthesis-related surgeries. We aim to address this gap through a scoping review of malignancies following ophthalmologic surgeries involving various foreign device/prosthesis/implants.
Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a review using PubMed and Embase for studies on cancer and ophthalmic prostheses/implants.

Background/problems: Individuals with comorbid physical and mental health conditions face significant threats to their well-being while placing a substantial burden on healthcare systems through increased service costs. Nursing professionals encounter multiple challenges in delivering effective care to this population. These challenges include a lack of integrated care models, communication barriers among providers, the complexity of addressing dual health needs, insufficient training in comorbidity management, resource and time constraints, and pervasive stigma toward mental illness.

The growing demand for environmentally friendly semiconductors that can be tailored and developed easily is compelling researchers and technologists to design inherently bio-compatible, self-assembling nanostructures with tunable semiconducting characteristics. Peptide-based bioinspired materials exhibit a variety of supramolecular morphologies and have the potential to function as organic semiconductors. Such biologically or naturally derived peptides with intrinsic semiconducting characteristics create new opportunities for sustainable biomolecule-based optoelectronics devices.
