Objective: To assess the morphological changes of penile vascular structures and the corpus cavernosum area in alloxan-induced diabetic rabbits.
Materials And Methods: Twenty male rabbits (2 months old) were divided into two groups with 10 rabbits each, the control group (CG) and the diabetic group (DG). The animals from DG received an intravenous injection of alloxan (100mg/kg) to induce the diabetes. Ten weeks after the induction of diabetes, all animals were euthanized. Two fragments of the penile shaft were harvested and samples were processed and paraffin embedded. Sections (5 µm) were cut and stained for histological and immunohistochemical markers.
Results: Nuclear protrusion toward the lumen, and cytoplasmic vacuolization were observed in the tunica intima of the dorsal artery of the penis in DG. The thicknesses of the tunica media increased significantly in DG (p = 0.0350). It was also observed a significant increase in the area of the tunica media (p = 0.0179). There was no significant change in smooth muscle cell density in the tunica media of the dorsal artery of the penis (p = 0.0855). The collagen fiber pattern of the tunica adventitia of the dorsal artery of the penis was different between the control and diabetic groups. There was a significant decrease in the area occupied by the cavernous sinuses in DG (p = 0.0013).
Conclusion: Alloxan-induced diabetes mellitus in rabbits promotes important changes in penile vascular structures, thereby decreasing blood supply and affecting penile hemodynamics, leading to erectile dysfunction.

Professionals like deep-miners and factory-workers wear specialized safety-shoes to protect against occupational hazards (OF). The risk factors, clinico-microbiologic profile and complications of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) in these professionals remain unexplored. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted to describe the unique clinico-microbiologic profile of DFU in those wearing occupational-footwear (OF) and find risk factors for DFU related osteomyelitis in them.

Background: This study aims to demonstrate the 3-dimensional pattern of the nutrient vessels of the triquetrum using micro-computed tomography and determine the safe region for screw applications to the bone.
Methods: Seven fresh frozen cadavers' ulnar and radial arteries were injected with Microfil MV-117. Triquetral bones were dissected and examined using micro-computed tomography.

Introduction: Reconstruction for various regions of the foot and ankle in pediatric patients remains a challenging topic. This study presents the circumflex scapular artery perforator (CSAP) flap and its surgical refinements for addressing soft tissue defects in various regions of the foot and ankle in pediatrics.
Patients And Methods: Forty-seven patients underwent CSAP flap and its surgical refinements for the reconstruction of foot and ankle defects from 2010 to 2022.

Although alveolar hyperoxia exacerbates lung injury, clinical studies have failed to demonstrate the beneficial effects of lowering the fraction of inspired oxygen (FO) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Atelectasis, which is commonly observed in ARDS, not only leads to hypoxemia but also contributes to lung injury through hypoxia-induced alveolar tissue inflammation. Therefore, it is possible that excessively low FO may enhance hypoxia-induced inflammation in atelectasis, and raising FO to an appropriate level may be a reasonable strategy for its mitigation.

Purpose: The surgical approach for midfoot injuries classically requires dual dorsal incision and identification of the neurovascular structures that are susceptible to injury during the surgery. The aim of this study was to map the topographic anatomy of the dorsum of the foot along with tarsal joints for the dorsal approach of midfoot surgery that would facilitate the surgery and minimize the risk of neurovascular injuries for surgeons who specially focus on foot and ankle injuries.
Methods: The dorsum of the foot was evaluated in 12 feet injected with latex containing a red colorant to visualize the arterial vessels.
