Liquid handling in the laboratory has unique challenges specific to the types of research being performed. The devices employed for purposes of performing liquid handling can be broken down into three general categories: bulk reagent dispensers, transfer devices, and plate washers. An overview of these types of liquid handlers, as well as common features and relevance to high-throughput applications, are discussed in this article. Important topics such as sterility, ease of use, cost, and instrument design advantages and disadvantages are also covered. Curr. Protoc. Chem Biol. 1:43-54. © 2009 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Drying plant raw materials using modern techniques or combined methods is currently one of the main trends in food technology, which combines process optimization in line with the principles of sustainable development while maintaining high product quality. Therefore, this study aims to be innovative, assessing the possibility of using sublimation techniques, convective drying (CD) at different temperatures (50 °C, 60 °C, 70 °C), vaccum microwave drying (VMD) at different power levels (120 W, 240 W, 360 W, and 360/120 W), and combining these two techniques- CD-VMD (50 °C/120 W, 60 °C/120 W, 70 °C/120 W) in the production of peach snacks. The qualitative analysis of the tested dried peaches showed that the content of polyphenols was dominated by polymers of procyanidins (82.

The emergence of liquid biopsy technologies holds great promise in the cancer setting, including in pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors. In contrast to broad lower-depth sequencing, commonly referred to as low pass whole genome sequencing (WGS), targeted platforms with a higher depth of coverage have also been established. Here, we review targeted liquid biopsy techniques with applicability to pediatric CNS tumors.

Ginseng and its processed products are valued as health foods for their nutritional benefits. The traditional forms of processed ginseng include white ginseng, dali ginseng (DLG), red ginseng (RG), and black ginseng (BG). However, the impact of processing on the chemical composition and anti-tumor efficacy of these products is not well understood.

Advancements in food technology have increased the need for thorough analysis to ensure food safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS) has emerged as a powerful tool in food analysis due to its high separation efficiency, low sample consumption, and ability to handle complex matrices. However, challenges such as the use of volatile running buffers and maintaining the stability of the electrical circuit connecting the CE and MS systems have been addressed through advancements in interface designs, such as sheathless systems and optimized sheath-liquid compositions.
