Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains the deadliest infectious disease globally, with the kidneys being the most frequently affected organ in the genitourinary system. Isolated prostate involvement by tuberculosis is rare and may mimic prostate cancer. This case report aims to highlight the diagnostic challenges and therapeutic responses associated with isolated prostate tuberculosis, particularly in the context of significantly elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels in a TB-endemic region.

We have read with great interest the recent review published by Dr. Ebo and collaborators on cannabis allergy. It highlights the difficulties in getting a valid diagnosis because some patients do not admit its consumption, which may not be legalized, there are no commercial extracts and there are problems in cutaneous tests interpretation due to cross-reactivity with other related allergens.

The promise of injection of extracellular matrix (ECM) from animal hearts as a treatment of myocardial ischemia has been limited by immune reactions and harsh ECM-damaging extraction procedures. We developed a novel method to produce lab-grown human 3D acellular ECM particles from human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to mitigate product variability, immunogenicity, and preserve ECM architecture. We hypothesized that intramyocardial injection (I/M) of this novel ECM (dia ~200 microns) would improve cardiac function in a post-myocardial infarction (MI) murine model.

Aims: Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is used in many applications including drug development. Due to exposure to environmental products, there is a high prevalence of preexisting anti-PEG antibodies in the global human population. The presence of anti-PEG antibodies is a concern for potentially reducing the efficacy of therapeutics after administration and represents a risk of safety events after exposure to PEGylated drug products.
