Pd-catalyzed ortho-C-H iodination directed by a weakly coordinating amide auxiliary using I2 as the sole oxidant was developed. This reaction is compatible with a wide range of heterocycles including pyridines, imidazoles, oxazoles, thiazoles, isoxazoles, and pyrazoles.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM), one of the most pervasive and enduring metabolic diseases, has been demonstrated to adversely impact male fertility. Conversely, both exercise training and Chrysin have been identified as potential interventions capable of mitigating the deleterious effects of diabetes on spermatogenesis. Thus, the current study aims to explore the individual and combined influences of Chrysin supplementation and running exercise on oxidative stress and germ cell apoptosis in the testicular tissue of diabetic adult rats.

Background: Lipoid pneumonia (LP) is a rare disease caused by the accumulation of lipids and lipid-laden macrophages in the alveoli inducing damage. LP is difficult to differentiate from other similar diseases without pathological evidence, such as upper respiratory tract infection (URTI), pneumonia, cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP), pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP), lung mucinous adenocarcinoma and pulmonary edema. Given the high misdiagnosis rate and limited statistical clinical and treatment data, there is an urgent need for novel indicators of LP.

Increased industrial offshore activities in northern waters raise the question of impact of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on key Arctic marine species. One of these is the ecologically important polar cod (Boreogadus saida), which is the primary food source for Arctic marine mammals and seabirds. In the present work, we have conducted the first comprehensive proteomics study with this species by exploring the effects of dietary PAH exposure on the hepatic proteome, using benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) as a PAH model-compound.
