Objectives: To further explore the controversy as to whether childhood molestation is associated with chronic pain in adulthood.
Design: Community nonpatients without pain (CNPWP), community patients with pain (CPWP), acute pain patients (APPs), and chronic pain patients (CPPs) were compared for endorsement of affirmation of childhood molestation by chi-square. Logistic regression was utilized to predict affirmation in male and female CPPs.
Results: A significantly higher percentage of male APPs affirmed molestation versus CNPWP and CPWP. No other comparisons were statistically significant for males. For females, no comparisons were significant. For male CPPs, the behavior health inventory-2 (BHI-2) survivor of violence scale and 1 item from this scale predicted affirmation. The following BHI-2 scales and items predicted affirmation for female CPPs: muscular bracing and survivor of violence scales; the item "I have been a victim of many sexual attacks"; and the item "My father was kind and loving to me when I was growing up" (scored opposite direction).
Conclusions: In female PWCP, the prevalence of childhood molestation is not greater than in a number of unique comparison groups. Unique predictors of childhood molestation are yet to be identified.

In this paper, we report an atypical presentation of borderline personality disorder (BPD) in a 30-year-old female with a history of childhood molestation and trauma and a prior diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The patient was hospitalized due to anxiety, depression, and guilt over her relapse into alcohol use disorder. During her hospital stay, we diagnosed her with BPD based on psychiatric examination, clinical interviews, and patient history.

Individuals with paraphilic interests in sexual violence or children may be more likely to sexually offend if they possess offense-supportive cognitions. These cognitions may develop in response to childhood adversity. However, this idea is largely based on research in men convicted of sexual offenses and may not generalize to non-incarcerated adults with paraphilic interests.

Although the effect of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on antisocial behaviors is well established in the literature, limited research, if any, has analyzed the effect that ACEs have on behaviors at two different times. Limited research also has analyzed the effect that specific ACEs have on deviant behaviors after statistically controlling for respondents' protective factors. This study expands the literature in this area by analyzing in a sample of 555 adolescents the immediate and lagged effect that individual ACEs, and exposure to a number of ACEs, have on three deviant behaviors after controlling for respondents' protective factors not previously examined in ACEs studies.

Multiple previous studies explored the associations between early life factors and the age at onset of the depression. However, they only focused on the influence of environmental or genetic factors, without considering the interactions between them. Based on previous genome-wide association study (GWAS) data, we first calculated polygenic risk score (PRS) for depression.
