Phthalonitrile-based resins and benzoxazine play important roles in the field of advanced materials because of their excellent properties. In order to understand the effect of the backbone's structure on the curing kinetics and properties of the multifunctional resin matrices, different kinds of phthalonitrile containing benzoxazine with various backbone structures were designed and prepared. The curing processes and curing behaviors were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

SARS-CoV-2 main protease (M) autocatalytically releases itself out of the viral polyprotein to form a fully active mature dimer in a manner that is not fully understood. Here, we introduce several tools to help elucidate differences between cis (intramolecular) and trans (intermolecular) proteolytic processing and to evaluate inhibition of precursor M. We found that many mutations at the P1 position of the N-terminal autoprocessing site do not block cis autoprocessing but do inhibit trans processing.

Autocatalytic reaction present a significant opportunity for the precise spatial and temporal control of dynamic materials, mimicking the characteristics of living matter within autonomous chemical systems. Herein, we have crafted an autocatalytic chemical reaction network (CRN) designed to be incorporated into a dynamic system, allowing for efficient control of both sol(I)-gel and gel-sol(II) transitions through autocatalytic fronts. The CRN incorporates two autocatalytic reactions.

Artificial bio-nanocoatings, primarily composed of proteins, offer a broad range of applications across various fields thanks to their unique properties. Proteins, as major components of these structures, enable a high degree of customization, such as mutations, conjugation with other molecules or nanoparticles, or the inclusion of an enzymatic activity. Their ability to self-assembly simplifies the production of bio-nanocoatings, making this process efficient and environment-friendly.

Several factors can affect drug release from polylactide coglycolide (PLGA)-based formulations, including polymer and drug properties, formulation components, manufacturing processes, and environmental or conditions. To achieve optimal release profiles for specific drug delivery applications, it is crucial to understand the mechanistic processes that determine drug release from PLGA-based formulations. In the current study, we developed a mechanistic model for the drug release of PLGA-based solid implants.
