Research Objective: To compare haemodynamic effects of general anaesthesia in combination with epidural block and without it during kidney transplantation in Pediatric patients.
Methods: 61 Pediatric patients undergoing kidney transplantation were divided into two groups. General anaesthesia with sevoflurane, propofol, phentanilum and regional ropivacaine epidural block were used in the group 1. General anaesthesia was used only in the group 2. Haemodynamic parameters were assessed: Arterial blood pressure, stroke volume, central venous pressure and cardiac index.
Results: Both techniques of anaesthesia were adequate.
Conclusion: regional ropivacaine epidural block and general anaesthesia combination provides more stable haemodynamic parameters than general anaesthesia single use.

: Despite the known impact of propofol and remifentanil on hemodynamics and patient outcomes, there is a lack of comprehensive quantitative analysis, particularly in surgical settings, considering the influence of noxious stimuli. The aim of this study was to develop a quantitative semi-mechanistic population model that characterized the time course changes in mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) due to the effects of propofol, remifentanil, and different types of noxious stimulation related to the clinical routine. : Data from a prospective study were used; the study analyzed the effects of propofol and remifentanil general anesthesia on female patients in physical status of I-II according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA I-II) undergoing gynecology surgery.

Ropivacaine, a widely used regional anesthetic also used for pain management, has been increasingly used in recent years due to its increased efficacy and improved safety compared to similar anesthetics. Biomonitoring of ropivacaine and its metabolites during and after anesthesia is an essential process for ensuring therapeutic efficacy and safe usage for patients. The most useful biomonitoring tool in recent years has been liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), which offers selectivity, sensitivity, as well as accuracy of measurements.

: The lateral arm flap has been a very useful choice for the reconstruction of small to medium-sized defects, such as in the hands, extremities, and oral head and neck area. Its versatile characteristics and surgical feasibility allow this flap to be widely applied, but its reconstructive potential in the facial subunit after tumor ablation procedures has never been reported. In this study, we aimed to utilize the advantages of this flap to carry out facial temple subunit defect reconstruction.

: Postoperative recovery from general anesthesia is a multidimensional process, and patient-centered outcome assessment should be considered an important indicator of recovery quality. This study compared the effectiveness of intraoperative lidocaine and magnesium on postoperative recovery in nasal bone fracture surgery, using the quality of recovery-40 questionnaire (QoR-40) to assess recovery quality and pain intensity. : A total of 74 patients scheduled for elective closed reduction surgery for isolated nasal bone fracture were assigned to the intraoperative infusions of lidocaine or magnesium.
