The generation of germline cells from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) represents a milestone toward in vitro gametogenesis. Methods to recapitulate germline development beyond primordial germ cells in vitro have relied on long-term cell culture, such as 3-dimensional organoid co-culture for ~four months. Using a pipeline with highly parallelized screening, this study identifies combinations of TFs that directly and rapidly convert hiPSCs to induced oogonia-like cells (iOLCs).

We report the fabrication and characterization of a Bi(III) oxide/polypyrrole (BiO/Ppy) nanocomposite thin film optoelectronic photodetector synthesized by a simple one-pot method. The nanocomposite consists of spherical BiO nanoparticles embedded in a Ppy matrix, forming a porous structure with a high surface area. The XRD analysis reveals that the BiO nanoparticles have a poly-crystalline nature with a crystal size of 40 nm and an optical bandgap of 2.

This study explores the development of a sustainable drug delivery system using cellulose nanoparticles (CNPs) derived from potato pulp for the controlled release of phosphoaminopyrazine (PAP), a promising anticancer agent. CNPs were synthesized via nanoprecipitation, and PAP was loaded through in-situ nanoprecipitation, achieving a high loading efficiency of 79.2 %.

Changes in the intestinal microbiota induced by the postnatal environment and their association with hypertension.

Pharmacol Res

January 2025

Laboratory of Vascular Physiology, Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Institute of Biomedical Science, University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Electronic address:

It has been established that cross-fostering impacts the development of hypertension in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). However, the ability of the cross-fostering protocol to shape gut microbiota profile in SHR and impact hypertension is not known. In this sense, the current study explored the influence of normotensive and hypertensive postnatal environments on the intestinal microbiota structure, composition, and functional capacity of SHR and Wistar rats.
