Transgenic tobacco plants expressing the AINTEGUMENTA gene of rape under control of the 35S promoter and the promoter of dahlia mosaic virus were obtained. The transgenic plants were characterized by increase in the length of the leaves, flower sizes, stem height, and weight of seeds; at the same time, the degree of increase was greater in the case of use of the dahlia mosaic virus promoter as a regulator of transcription. Ectopic expression of the AINTEGUMENTA gene promoted prolongation of leaf growth, while sizes of epidermal cells of the leaves remained unchanged.

Safflower ( L.) is a valuable oil crop due to its bioactive ingredients and high linoleic acid content, which contribute to its antioxidant properties and potential for preventing atherosclerosis. Current research on safflower focuses on understanding the biosynthesis of seed oil through omics strategies, yet there is a lack of comprehensive knowledge of the dynamic changes in lipids and the regulatory mechanisms during seed development.

Wood constitutes the largest reservoir of terrestrial biomass. Composed of xylem, it arises from one side of the vascular cambium, a bifacial stem cell niche that also produces phloem on the opposing side. It is currently unknown which molecular factors endow cambium stem cell identity.

Platanus acerifolia AIL genes PaAIL5a/b and PaAIL6b participate in FT-AP1/FUL-AIL pathways to regulate bud dormancy. In addition, PaAIL6a/b can promote flowering, and PaAIL5b and PaAIL6b affect floral development. Bud dormancy and floral induction are essential processes for perennial plants, they are both regulated by photoperiod, temperature, and hormones, indicating the existence of common regulators for both processes.

Meristems are crucial for organ formation, but our knowledge of their molecular evolution is limited. Here, we show that AINTEGUMENTA (MpANT) in the euANT branch of the APETALA2-like transcription factor family is essential for meristem development in the nonvascular plant Marchantia polymorpha. MpANT is expressed in the thallus meristem.

Plants are dependent on divisions of stem cells to establish cell lineages required for growth. During embryogenesis, early division products are considered to be stem cells, whereas during post-embryonic development, stem cells are present in meristems at the root and shoot apex. PLETHORA/AINTEGUMENTA-LIKE (PLT/AIL) transcription factors are regulators of post-embryonic meristem function and are required to maintain stem cell pools.
