Introduction: Numerous orthopaedic procedures including dynamic hip screw plating and various osteotomies require placement of a reference guide pin or K wire to direct bone cuts or for drilling screw holes. Appropriate positioning of these wires is a critical component of surgery. Irrespective of whether one is a seasoned surgeon or an apprentice, these wires often need repositioning and readjustment.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) due to abundant apertures, adjustable components, and multi-purpose structures have broad application prospects in supercapacitors. However, its low conductivity, poor stability, and difficulty growing evenly on the conductive substrate limit the electrochemical energy storage performance. Herein, with FeCoNi-OH nanosheets serving as the precursors, the trimetallic FeCoNi-MOF (FCNM) multilayer structure is successfully synthesized on activated carbon cloth (AC), and its optimal growth state (FCNM/AC-12 h) is achieved by regulating the reaction time.

End-user feedback early in product development is important for optimizing multipurpose prevention technologies for HIV and pregnancy prevention. We evaluated the acceptability of the 90-day dapivirine levonorgestrel ring (DPV-LNG ring) used for 14 days compared to a dapivirine-only ring (DVR-200mg) in MTN-030/IPM 041 (n = 23), and when used for 90 days cyclically or continuously in MTN-044/IPM 053/CCN019 (n = 25). We enrolled healthy, non-pregnant, HIV-negative women aged 18-45 in Pittsburgh, PA and Birmingham, AL (MTN-030 only).

This review examines the history of contact lens (CL) care products, particularly focusing on hard contact lenses (HCLs) like those made from polymethyl methacrylate and rigid gas permeable (RGP) materials. Although literature on CL history is extensive, there is limited information on the history of CL care products, especially in Japan. This review uses advertisements from the Journal of the Japan Contact Lens Society from 1959 to 2023 to trace the evolution of these products.
