A vibronic-exciton model is applied to investigate the recently proposed mechanism of enhancement of coherent oscillations due to mixing of electronic and nuclear degrees of freedom. We study a dimer system to elucidate the role of resonance coupling, site energies, vibrational frequency and energy disorder in the enhancement of vibronic-exciton and ground-state vibrational coherences, and to identify regimes where this enhancement is significant. For a heterodimer representing two coupled bachteriochloropylls of the FMO complex, long-lived vibronic coherences are found to be generated only when the frequency of the mode is in the vicinity of the electronic energy difference. Although the vibronic-exciton coherences exhibit a larger initial amplitude compared to the ground-state vibrational coherences, we conclude that, due to the dephasing of the former, both type of coherences have a similar magnitude at longer population time.

The cyano-cyclopentadiene molecule (CN-CH) has attracted significant interest since its detection in the interstellar medium, but the radical (CN-CH) and anionic (CN-CH) forms of cyano-cyclopentadiene have not been studied. The cyano-cyclopentadienyl radical (CN-Cp) has a strong dipole moment, rendering it an ideal system for vibrational and rotational spectroscopy. We report an investigation of the cryogenically cooled cyano-cyclopentadienide anion (CN-Cp) using high-resolution photoelectron imaging, photodetachment spectroscopy, and resonant photoelectron imaging.

This study investigates the impact of structural isomerism on the excited state lifetime and redox energetics of heteroleptic [Ir(ppy)2(bpy)]+ and homoleptic Ir(ppy)3 photoredox catalysts using ground-state and time-dependent density functional theory methods. While the ground- and excited-state reduction potentials differ only slightly among the isomers of these complexes, our findings reveal significant variations in the radiative and non-radiative decay rates of the reactivity-controlling triplet 3MLCT states of these closely related species. The observed differences in radiative decay rates could be traced back to variations in the transition dipole moment, vertical energy gaps, and spin-orbit coupling of the isomers.

The methoxy radical, CHO, has long been studied experimentally and theoretically by spectroscopists because it displays a weak Jahn-Teller effect in its electronic ground state, combined with a strong spin-orbit interaction. In this work, we report an extension of the measurement of the pure rotational spectrum of the radical in its vibrational ground state in the submillimeter-wave region (350-860 GHz). CHO was produced by H-abstraction from methanol using F atoms, and its spectrum was probed in absorption using an association of source-frequency modulation and Zeeman modulation spectroscopy.

Electronic spectra for OThF have been recorded using fluorescence excitation and two-photon resonantly enhanced ionization techniques. Multiple vibronic bands were observed in the 340-460 nm range. Dispersed fluorescence spectra provided ground state vibrational constants and evidence of extensive vibronic state mixing at higher excitation energies.

Indane-based molecules are effective scaffolds for different pharmaceutical products, so it is relevant to analyze the relation between structure and functionality in indane derivatives. Here, we have characterized the conformational landscape and molecular structure of 1-aminoindane in the gas phase using chirped-excitation Fourier-transform microwave spectroscopy and computational methods. The rotational spectrum confirmed the presence of two conformers, which were identified based on their rotational constants and 14N nuclear quadrupole coupling tensor elements.
