Objective: To investigate the effect of iron saturated recombinant human lactoferrin (Fe-rhLf) on treating iron deficiency anemia (IDA).

Methods: SD rats received iron deficient diet and deionized water during the whole experiment. After 4 weeks, the rats with hemoglobin less than 100 g/L were selected and divided into 5 groups randomly. IDA group received 100 mg/(kg×d) casein dissolved in deionized water intragastrically; FeSO4 group received 5.43 mg/(kg×d) [2.0 mg/(kg×d) iron]+100 mg/(kg×d) casein intragastrically; low dose Fe-rhLf group received 75.53 mg/(kg×d) Fe-rhLf [0.5 mg/(kg×d) iron] +75 mg/(kg×d) casein intragastrically; middle dose group received 151.06 mg/(kg×d) Fe-rhLf [1.0 mg/(kg×d) iron]+50 mg/(kg×d) casein intragastrically; high dose group received 302.11 mg/(kg×d) Fe-rhLf [2.0 mg/(kg×d) iron] intragastrically. After 30 days of intervention, the rats' blood was collected and used to do the routine blood test, serum iron and serum anti-oxidants test. The liver hepcidin and ferroportin mRNA expression was tested by real time PCR.

Results: Compared with the animals in the IDA group, Fe-rhLf could increase weight significantly (P<0.05), hematological parameters, like hemoglobin (P<0.01) and red blood cell count (P<0.01) recovered significantly. Compared with animals in FeSO4 group, high dose Fe-rhLf could improve hemoglobin significantly (P<0.05). The liver hepcidin expression was up regulated and ferroportin down regulated.

Conclusion: Fe-rhLf has a significant effect on treating iron deficiency anemia.

Background: To investigate the effect of Midnight-noon Ebb-flow combined with five-element music therapy in the continuous nursing of patients with chronic wounds.

Methods: From March 2022 to November 2023, we recruited 50 eligible chronic wound patients and randomly divided them into two groups according to a random number table: the experimental group (n = 25) and the control group (n = 25). The control group was treated with conventional nursing measures.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) induces an imbalance in T helper (Th) 17/regulatory T (Treg) cells that contributes to of the dysregulation of inflammation. Exercise training can modulate the immune response in healthy subjects.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the effects of exercise training on Th17/Treg responses and the differentiation of Treg phenotypes in individuals with COPD.

Background: Lamotrigine clearance can change drastically in pregnant women with epilepsy (PWWE) making it difficult to assess the need for dosing adjustments. Our objective was to characterize lamotrigine pharmacokinetics in PWWE during pregnancy and postpartum along with a control group of nonpregnant women with epilepsy (NPWWE).

Methods: The Maternal Outcomes and Neurodevelopmental Effects of Antiepileptic Drugs (MONEAD) study was a prospective, observational, 20 site, cohort study conducted in the United States (December 2012 and February 2016).

The knowledge of "clinical molecular biology testing technology" is complex, conceptual expressions are abstract and difficult to understand, and the student's interest in learning is low. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a cyclic teaching method based on case analysis combined with an exploratory teaching method using mind mapping as an assignment. Students from the 2019 cohort of medical laboratory technology at Hunan University of Chinese Medicine served as the control group and received conventional lecture-based teaching methods.
