Induction of myeloid differentiation in radioresistant HL60 cells (Res-HL60) was examined to clarify the developmental mechanism of radioresistant leukemia. Compared to wild-type HL60 cells (Wt-HL60), Res-HL60 were smaller and strongly expressed CD38. Under all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) stimulation, Res-HL60 continued to proliferate slowly and with similar level of CD11b expression to Wt-HL60. Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) strongly suppressed proliferation of Res-HL60, downregulated CD14, and affected mRNA expression. These results suggested that the specific myeloid differentiation of Res-HL60 suppressed monocyte lineage by ATRA and PMA occurred through regulation of mRNA expression.

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a T cell-dependent, B cell-mediated disorder strongly associated with antigen presentation by dendritic cells (DCs). In MG, mucosal tolerance is linked to increased expression of TGF-β mRNA in monocytes. Additionally, monocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells (M-MDSCs) exhibit negative immunomodulatory effects by suppressing autoreactive T and B cells.

Background: Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) often results from neuroinflammation. Recent studies have shown that brain platelet-derived growth factor receptor β (PDGFRβ) cells, including pericytes, may act as early sensors of infection by secreting monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), which transmits inflammatory signals to the central nervous system. The erythroblast transformation-specific (ETS) transcription factor Friend leukemia virus integration 1 (Fli-1) plays a critical role in inflammation by regulating the expression of key cytokines, including MCP-1.

: , a bacterium residing in hair follicles, triggers acne by inducing monocyte-mediated inflammatory cytokine production. Gedunin, a limonoid derived from (commonly known as neem), is renowned for its antifungal, antimalarial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. However, its role in mitigating -induced skin inflammation remains unexplored.

Breast milk is a fluid of vital importance during the first stages of life of the newborn since, in addition to providing nutrients, it also contains cells and molecules of the immune system, which protect the neonate from infection and, at the same time, modulate the establishment of the microbiota. Bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein (BPI) is relevant in preventing disease and sepsis in neonates. Therefore, the following work aimed to demonstrate the presence of BPI in the different stages of breast milk and its possible immune functions.

About 296 million people worldwide are living with chronic hepatitis B viral (HBV) infection, and outcomes to end-stage liver diseases are potentiated by alcohol. HBV replicates in hepatocytes, but other liver non-parenchymal cells can sense the virus. In this study, we aimed to investigate the regulatory effects of macrophages on HBV marker and interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) expressions in hepatocytes.
