Subacute radiodermatitis is a rare cutaneous disease induced by ionizing radiation. It often is mistaken for contact dermatitis, fixed drug eruption, or connective-tissue disease. Routine use of fluoroscopy has flourished in many types of medical procedures. We present a case of subacute radiodermatitis stemming from prolonged fluoroscopic exposure during angiography; the lesion appeared only at the site of contact for the ground plate, remote from the field of radiation.

Arc welding is an occupation with exposure to intense bursts of UV radiation (UVR). Although industrial settings may be aware of UV light exposure during welding, physicians may be unaware of this source. We report 3 welders with skin diseases that may have been caused or exacerbated by occupational UV light exposure: refractory subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, diffuse actinic damage spared by the area protected by safety goggles, and squamous cell carcinoma developed outside of the area protected by a face shield.

Purpose: The percutaneous coronary interventions use large doses of ionizing radiation, particularly when treating complex lesions. The incidence of radio-induced skin lesions is poorly known. Our goal was to evaluate the frequency of occurrence of such lesions, as well as the factors that may contribute to a high radiation dose.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of external beam reirradiation using a pulsed low-dose-rate (PLDR) technique.
Methods And Materials: We evaluated patients treated with PLDR reirradiation from 2009 to 2016 at a single institution. Toxicity was graded using the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events, version 4.

Although radiation dermatitis is a widely known complication of radiotherapy, its association with fluoroscopy-guided interventional procedures is yet under recognized. We present a case of a 66-year-old man with a left scapular cutaneous lesion, initially diagnosed as a fixed drug eruption. The subsequent knowledge of a previous percutaneous aortic paravalvular leak closure procedure allowed a correct clinicopathological correlation and the final diagnosis of subacute radiodermatitis associated with fluoroscopy.
