Objective: To primarily study the influence of recombination abnormality in human spermatocyte meiosis on the pathology of the patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA).
Methods: We obtained testis tissues from 6 NOA patients by testicular biopsy and divided the tissue of each patient into 2 portions, one for pathological examination and the other for immunofluorescent staining. We observed the synaptonemal complex and the numbers of the recombination sites on homologous chromosomes, and analyzed the relationship between abnormal recombination and pathological findings.
Results: Pathological examination showed that the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules was thickened in 3 of the cases and atrophied in the other 3, the number of autosomal MLH1 foci in a spermatocyte ranging from 10 to 50 in the former 3, and from 30 to 50 in the latter 3.
Conclusion: The increased range of the homologous chromosomal recombination frequency may be one of the possible factors for the thickening of seminiferous tubule basement membrane and even lumen occlusion in NOA patients.

Purpose: Airway disease is the main pathological basis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but the underlying mechanisms are unknown. Bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP7) is a multi-functional growth factor that belongs to the transforming growth factor superfamily, which affects the regulation of proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Previous research has shown that BMP7 is highly expressed in the airway epithelia of patients with COPD, but its role in airway disease has not been fully elucidated.

Background: The early stages of tumor bone metastasis are closely associated with changes in the vascular niche of the bone microenvironment, and abnormal angiogenesis accelerates tumor metastasis and progression. However, the effects of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) cells reprogrammed by the bone microenvironment on the vascular niche within the bone microenvironment and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates the effects and mechanisms of LUAD cells reprogrammed by the bone microenvironment on endothelial cells and angiogenesis, providing insights into the influence of tumor cells on the vascular niche within the bone microenvironment.

Rationale: Current research on antiviral treatment in children is relatively limited, especially in children under 1 year old.
Patient Concerns: Liu XX, an 8-month-old infant (case number: 3001120473), presented to the hospital in August 2016 with a chief complaint of being "hepatitis B surface antigen positive for 8 months and experiencing abnormal liver function for 5 months."
Diagnoses: The patient was diagnosed as chronic hepatitis B cirrhosis (G3S3-4) with active compensatory phase.

This study discusses disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) associated with solid cancers and various vascular abnormalities, both of which generally exhibit chronic DIC patterns. Solid cancers are among the most significant underlying diseases that induce DIC. However, the severity, bleeding tendency, and progression of DIC vary considerably depending on the type and stage of the cancer, making generalization difficult.
