In order to observe the force interaction in large areas, a novel force detection probe was fabricated by two-photon absorbed photopolymerization (TPAP) techniques. The probe was based on a commercial cantilever, and a docking structure for adopting a microsphere immobilized with actin antibody was fabricated by the TPAP techniques. The commercial AFM tip was also modified with the antibody for comparison. Using force curve measurement, the interaction force was compared between the modified probes and the sample surface which was immobilized with actin using a spotting system. The adhesive force of 1.3 nN was measured applying the commercial cantilever. The value was comparable to the measured interaction force of 130 nN applying the microsphere modified cantilever. The measured adhesive force of the novel probe was 100-fold larger than that obtained by the sharp AFM cantilever tip. This strong adhesive force of the microsphere modified cantilever to actin is explainable by the large contact area between the microsphere and the sample surface.

This study aims to investigate a new approach to removing hazardous dyes like Direct Blue 86 (DB86) and Acid Yellow 36 (AY36) from aqueous environments. Delonix regia biochar-sulphur (DRB-S), made from Delonix regia seed pods (DPSPs), is an inexpensive and environmentally friendly adsorbent. Different characterization investigations using BJH, BET, FTIR, SEM, DSC, TGA, and EDX were utilized in the descriptions of the DRB-S biosorbent.

Metal-nonaqueous solution interfaces, a key to many electrochemical technologies, including lithium metal batteries, are much less understood than their aqueous counterparts. Herein, on several metal-nonaqueous solution interfaces, we observe capacitances that are 2 orders of magnitude lower than the usual double-layer capacitance. Combining electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and physical modeling, we ascribe the ultralow capacitance to an interfacial layer of 10-100 nm above the metal surface.

Oleogels with solid-like properties can serve as substitutes for fats, thereby avoiding the consumption of high levels of saturated fatty acids. In this study, we developed a protein-polysaccharide composite network oleogel using whey protein isolate (WPI) and sodium alginate (SA) through an emulsion-templated method. Analysis with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy confirmed the presence of hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces between WPI and SA, which bolstered the oleogel's structure.

In this paper, zein-carboxymethyl starch (CMS) nanoparticles were prepared by antisolvent precipitation method to improve the stability of rutin (RT). The encapsulation efficiency, loading capacity, oxidation resistance, structural properties were evaluated. The results showed that electrostatic, hydrogen bond and hydrophobic interaction were the main driving forces for the formation of nanoparticles.

Computationally designed 29-residue peptides yield tetra-α-helical bundles with symmetry. The "bundlemers" can be bifunctionally linked via thiol-maleimide cross-links at their N-termini, yielding supramolecular polymers with unusually large, micrometer-scale persistence lengths. To provide a molecularly resolved understanding of these systems, all-atom molecular modeling and simulations of linked bundlemers in explicit solvent are presented.
